School Dance (2014) Directed by Nick Cannon

For some reason I thought this was going to be a spoof of dance movies (probably because of the title of course) but it actually turned out to be something totally different to both my surprise and delight.

Call me immature but I always like watching these sort of, random, silly comedies, starring a mostly black cast. Something irresistible about watching a bunch of tattooed tough guys making a fool of themselves. Absolutely nothing realistic or sensical about any of the comedy and story of this movie and it just loves to be as random as possible with all of its jokes and characters but that's actually always the key as to why these movies are funny to watch for me. Don't worry, I'm not claiming that this is a great movie by any means but it at least really made me laugh, which is worth something as well.

These type of comedies are absolutely never brilliant to watch but they are great to simply have a good time and a few laughs with. Good thing about this movies is that they also always know what they are and there is never anything pretentious about any of them. They know that they are silly- and sometimes even bad movies but they also know that people who go watch these sort of movies aren't too demanding. They therefore allow themselves to go all out with all of its silliness and foolishness and it's obvious that some of the scenes and dialog were improvises on the spot, to add even more to the randomness and craziness of all of it.

Needless to say that the story doesn't impress much and it's also definitely true that this is a movie with some hits and misses in it, when it comes down to the comedy. But every time I thought that the movie started to drag and it became a bit of a tiresome one it did something to make me laugh again, which resulted in me liking this movie, from basically start till finish.

Fun crazy characters, tons of random craziness. It's really a comedy to laugh at and have some fun with, if you can get over the fact that there isn't much of a story and it isn't ever trying to impress you anything clever. I probably am going to be a minority on this but I truly enjoyed watching this silly, little comedy.
