All of this week's new movie reviews

A Haunted House 2 (2014)

Just what the world needed, a sequel to "A Haunted House". It of course doesn't matter whether or not a movie is liked or gets critical acclaimed, as long as it makes enough money, that's plenty enough reason for the studios to green-light- or just simply 'demand' a sequel to be made. Read more>

Gojira-Minira-Gabara: Oru kaijû daishingeki (1969)

This movie must have been a real disappointment and punch in the face for the hardcore Gojira lovers at the time. In this movie, they see their favorite and powerful over-sized lizard getting diminished to a secondary character in a children's movie, that in a lot of ways is more like a campaign movie against bullying. Gojira tai Hedorâ (1971)

The Gojira movie series really isn't the most consistent one around. Every time that it changes director, the movies also change considerably in its style and approach. In that regard it's actually quite similar to the James Bond franchise for instance, which isn't just a random comparison, since some of the Gojira movies are heavily influenced by the Bond movies of its time, such as, very notably, this one as well. Mr. Jones (2013)

OK I admit! The only reason why I wanted to see this movie was because of its awesome looking cover. So does the movie live up to its great cover? Well, yes and no. Read more>

Slaughter Is the Best Medicine (2014)

Well, I'm sure that everyone involved had a great time working on this movie but that doesn't make for a good movie as well. Read more>

 4/10
Tokarev (2014)

And I thought that Nicolas Cage finally decided to start doing some good movies again! Read more>

Chikyû kogeki meirei: Gojira tai Gaigan (1972)

Can't believe they actually brought Jun Fukuda back to direct most of the '70's Gojira sequels. He already was responsible for some of the least liked and worst Gojira movies back in the '60's but I guess that his movies all still made a high enough profit to bring him back in again to direct some more sequels, starting of with this one. Gojira tai Megaro (1973)

Here's yet another one of the most hated Gojira movies that's around but you know what, it's not THAT bad! Read more>

 6/10
Way of the Wicked (2014)

What a shame. This looks and sounds like a decent enough genre flick but the movie is a pretty terrible one unfortunately, without any good mystery, suspense, or much excitement in it. Read more>

 4/10
Abducted (2014)

Great, that's the second cheap "Taken" knockoff that I have seen, within the same week! Read more>

 5/10
Gojira tai Mekagojira (1974)

This movie is absolutely crazy! Just imaging Gojira meets James Bond, meets Terminator, meets Planet of the Apes and that should basically sum up how this movie is like. Read more>

 8/10
Wer (2013)

The world needs some more werewolf movies...No, strike that. The world needs some more GOOD werewolf movies! Read more>

 5/10
Mekagojira no gyakushu (1975)

An era ended with this movie. The is the last movie out of the original first series and the big guy wouldn't reemerge again till 9 years later. It wasn't planned that way but it's only fitting that the director who started the original series, back in in 1954, also ended it, 21 years later, with this movie. It's far from Ishirô Honda's best or most enjoyable Gojira movie but it's still a pretty decent entry. Read more>

 7/10
Locker 13 (2014)

This feels like a true classic horror anthology movie, yet I still can't call it a very good one as well. Read more>
